A number of female escort agencies are asking men to be willing to walk into their establishments for a sexual encounter, after one local escort agency said that men were reluctant to enter.
Jacksonville-area escort agency The New Jersey City Escorts said in a statement that it has been in communication with several men who were looking for a female escort in the past few months.
“Many men have been reluctant to come into our clubs due to the perceived reputation of the agency, and a lack of respect for the woman that we represent,” the statement read.
“Many of these men are looking for the experience that they’ve been missing from the mainstream, and they are willing to do whatever it takes to be part of our agency.”
The New Jersey-based agency has been providing escorts in the Bay Area for more than a decade, according to its website.
The agency said in the statement that in recent months, it has received complaints about some of its male clients “who have shown a lack respect for women, and have not been very forthcoming with their story.
We want to be clear that this is not an endorsement of the women in question.”
“Many of our clients who are seeking to enter our clubs are men who have been dating women, have children, and are trying to meet women, which is not uncommon in our industry,” the agency added.
The agency went on to say that while it does not discriminate based on sex, it is aware that “a few of our male clients are reluctant to be in our clubs, due to their lack of experience with women, or fear of repercussions.”
According to a 2015 survey by the National Coalition for Men, approximately 10 percent of male adults have been sexually assaulted in the previous 12 months.
